Icons of Denmark in collaboration with Botium was tasked with Interior Architect Vibeke Brinck’s reimagining of the interior space for JDE Coffee.

The primary goal of the refurbishment was to reunite employees by accommodating flexible working across the JDE Coffee office in Copenhagen.

Facing the challenge of fostering a sense of togetherness among employees, JDE expressed a specific need for a space capable of hosting town hall meetings. This area had to be near the company’s two expansive kitchen/café showrooms and the central meeting centre.

Early in the design process, Vibeke Brinck identified the need for a large sofa to create a welcoming atmosphere for both employees and guests within the ‘Town Hall’ meeting space. Given the unique layout of the space, the team sought a modular sofa with a soft, organic shape, firm seating comfort, and the appropriate height for meetings. The Ekko Modular Sofa System fit the brief and was selected as the prominent furniture piece within the space.

The Ekko Modular Sofa System provides a versatile and comfortable setting for large gatherings. The modular nature of the sofa allowed for flexibility in adapting to the unconventional layout of the space. The sofa not only fulfilled the functional requirements for town hall meetings but also contributed to the overall aesthetic of the space. Even when unoccupied, the sofa added a touch of elegance to the surroundings.

The architect created a space that not only brings employees together but also strengthens the company’s identity. The thoughtful selection of the Ekko Modular Sofa System exemplifies Icons of Denmark’s commitment to innovative and functional design solutions, enhancing the overall user experience in the workplace.

Icons of Denmark also provided a number of Arena 4 Leg Upholstered chairs and bespoke sized Kant Meeting and High Tables in special RAL colours for various meeting and collaboration zones.
